PI – DAY CELEBRATIONS

At DPS, it is our constant endeavor to give our students the best teaching & learning experience.

In order to enrich & deeper students understanding of the concept of pi, we took a break from the normal routine to celebrate pi day on March 14 exactly at 1:59 pm as the digits coincide with the decimal part of pi.
It has provided a perfect spring board for students to have fun while investigating Math concepts.

All the students right from class I to X got involved in various activities on

While the students of primary classes made badges, created hand out copies of circles and labeled the diameters of the circles, the high school students started off their day by recording the circumference & diameter of 6 different

objects & there by found the average value of  to approximately coincide with the value of pi.

We also had students compare the frequency of the digits in pi using histogram pi chart, Bar graph etc.

Our children appreciated the contributions made by great mathematicians in the discovery of pi. Finally our celebrations ended off on a unique note; where in our students displayed their memorizing skills by remembering pi up to 150 decimals!
